Hey bebes ❤
I remember the times when I thought that the white and beige colors were “boring and for old people”. Ha! Luckily for me, I’m a huge fan of a good irony! Because not even a year later here I am, making only white and beige clothes. Does that make me boring or old? Perhaps, depending on your view of fun and … oldness, I guess… The truth is- that the neutral colors are soooo timeless and versatile, you can literally mix-and-match all of them and always (ALWAYS) look like you know your sh*t. So here we are:
There is a heavy dose of inspiration behind this little outfit. I was thinking of lattes, cloudy skies, natural materials and minimal chic. The top was made as part of my loungewear combination, and you can read about it here. But the shorts… Ahhh the shorts are my pride and joy. The first zipper installation ever and a very successful one- if I may add. Made out of Vikisews Patterns model Dafna (Дафна), stunning pattern worth of trying! And as usual with all patterns on this world, yes all, I had to take away few centimeters which was perfect on my PMS waist- but very soon after became little baggy. It’s an easy fix with any belt, I just thought to put it out there. ANYHOW, the fabric is cotton twill from Hobby Lobby that I dragged with me from Vegas (I had more fabric than I had clothes!). I’ll be brutally honest when I say that this is not the greatest quality fabric I’ve ever seen, I mean yes- the price was pretty “normal”(whatever normal is) but still. It wrinkles like crazy and after first wash it kinda lost it’s original luster. This is not to say that it’s trash- it’s just nothing special (unlike my upcoming garment that I’m making right now- oooh that post will be just about the fabric!)
In case you wonder about this fabulous purse I’m wearing, it’s from Etsy. They don’t have it there anymore but I found it on their site here.
I love love looove this outfit! It’s easy to wear, good for most of occasions, you should see it with heels- it’s glorious!
Until the next time…
