Hey bebes ❤
What do you think of my new coat?
I looooveeee ittt! And without any exaggeration this is my favorite piece ever!
The pattern that I used is Butterick B6384 size M, which ended up being too big so I took about an inch from each shoulder (just the top part) and if I’m being brutally honest- I kinda wish I made few more adjustments, sleeves are too wide, and generally I prefer clothes that is little closer to my body. But it’s not a huge deal, anyway I’m planning to put some layers under since it’s nor very warming… So I guess it came out perfect!
For the fabric I used this medium weight brushed cotton from Joann and I’m absolutely in love with it! Just in case you don’t know it already this particular striped print is called windowpane… Yeah, it took me a good minute to figure that out. For the lining I used the most natural looking option they had, also Joann.
The sewing was pretty simple (instructions and technique) which makes this coat a perfect beginners project. Timewise, it was hell. There are a lot of slip stitching, which is not so terrible on it’s own, but since I had (more than) few mistakes- I slip stitched for hours…
I am so excited about this piece and totally recommend the pattern and especially the fabric! Did you make any coat this year?
See you soon ❤ xoxo
